I first played LOTR in Vegas in July and loved it. I got some good wins on it. I am now almost to the Balrog, but it seems like it's not hitting anything at all!! If you log out, you seem to get more bonuses, and definitely more miles. Is it just my imagination, or has anyone else noticed that???

You are right. I feel the same way. After unlocking more bonuses, I can see the game got harder.

Hi windordor:

The best I can do is assure you that each spin is random and independent. It does not get harder as you play. Like most modern slots, there can be wicked winning streaks, and wickled losings streaks. Definitely! However, if is not because you have progressed further in the game. Honest.

The rings is new at one of our ca casinos, played it for the first time cost me $100.00 dollars to leave with nothing. I will give it one more chance liked the game but the payoff was bad.

Hi happyjacks:

Unfortunately ... sometimes the good luck is just not there. Glad to hear you are going to give is another shot. Hope things turn out better for you next time!

Discovered this great machine in Eureka casino, Mesquite Nevada. What a fascinating concept! Won $ 400 first day on Gandalf,s fireworks, then $300 next day on fireworks again, on an 80 cent bet each time. Am I right that the more trophies u are awarded for each bonus, the higher the payoff? Tried the LOTR website for info but the game described there seems different from the one I played. Will try to win more today!

Hi upgradon:

The trophies are awarded for large wins. It is based on the size of the win compared to the size of the bet.

Hope you have another good day. In theory, a multiplier of 125x is possible (3 WILDS at 5x). It's not a common occurrence ... but the possibility is there.

Was a thrill to reach the end of the road and obtain the mile marker ring.Isildur`s Sword has been the most difficult to get trophies(not fond of making choices),Galadriel Stairway and Kruk-Hai battle have been the hardest to WIN on, maybe next time I play lady luck will be with me,although I have won some sizeable pots($50-100),thats all for today have to get back and get the six remaing trophies!!

Have played LOTR in three casinos in WI, and Minnesota. When they were in the "attraction mode" they were awesome, unique, interesting, and fun. However, when "turned to normal" play, they can suck money as any other machine, bonuses do not pop up as frequently, etc. I have earned all the extra games and am already almost 100 point/miles earned for next Twin Towers game, whenever that appears. Many of the bonuses are EXTREMELY disappointing as far as payouts, so such much so that a 2X bet can reapt 0 credits frequently. Graphics are great, bose sound is great, but overall the game is not very profitable. Occasionally, they do hit big, but maybe one out of 10 actual opportunities.

Hi car1950:

Thanks for the game review. You make some valid points. The fact is, all slot machines over the long haul are going to take in more money than they pay out. So, as players, we are always trying to buck the trend. This is not a phenomenon unique to Lord of the Rings.

The thing about slots -- one big hit, and it can change everything. The odds are against you, but as slot players, that's nothing new. Glad you are enjoying the game ... and fingers crossed there are some good hits in your future!

PS - Some feedback I am really interested in. How many of the mini-games did you play to add to your miles? What did you think of the mini-game concept -- would you like this ability in future games? Do you think it had any impact on visiting the casino?

Hi gjasman:

Nice work! When was the last time as slot machines had a sense of accompishment or adventure. That's one of the things really great about this game.

Forgot to mention that I played at the MT Airy casino in Poconos PA, also as a TIP,save the bonus awards and play them individually,I wait for the first ring to appear then activate to get to the bonus round, do the same for the other awards, such as wait for Frado to appear then activate the next spin for the 2 times award etc..I play the minimum bet, pays are proportional but allows for extended play time and additional miles and bonus.played only four times to achieve 165 miles. so far I'm about even but having a BLAST!!
