A personal question for all about this game. Many of you have said you can play for hours on this game. What kind of BR does that take? I've never gotten a long session, but I admit I'm willing to run once I'm down $20 with minimum bets. I do enjoy the higher than normal hit frequency, so my .40 bet is actually .25 -.30 usually. But small win bonuses seem to plague me. Do I have low expectations and a low attention span, or have I not hit my stride with this game?
FWIW, I've only had 2 short, disappointing sessions with The Two Towers so far. The longest session on LOTR ever for me was 2 hours in which I hit 2 large bonuses on 40-cents (Gandalf's Fireworks and the Garden Heist)...even then I cashed out at $20, which was my original BR. $20 max is my limit for losses, too. DH informed me last week that he recently got less than $2 on a bonus. I was skeptical, but just the other day I personally witnessed a player end the Balrog bonus with a twenty cent "win." Yes, 20-cents!!! That unfortunately does not bode well for me wanting to play again since the Ring Bonus often eludes me.
I have had some good sessions on the lord of the ring games.Last time at the casino played 20 bucks for better than a half an hour(40 cnet bets) and walked away ahead about 65 bucks. The bonuses can really be tricky on the game,I like gandolfs fireworks as it has a super payout potential(had a 75x pay last time on this bonus).Like the new smeagol and gollum too, only got to play it once though.Overall I don't really see the massive payout for a 40 cent bet on this machine but I do find it entertaining.
Daddy: For 8 months I played LOTR almost exclusively. It is my experience that only one machine in a given bank of machines will pay out at any given time..for example, if there are two machines, only one will pay, if there are four (like at my go to) still only one of the four will pay. It is a matter of luck to sit down at the "Paying" one, or try all to see which one is in the right RNG cycle. That said, unfortunately, they do require more than 20 dollars to get their true mettle. They are great machines because their bonuses and power spins are very entertaining, but their "average" payouts are quite small for the .40 bet. As Shamus says, they can pay big, and I have won over 280.oo on a .40 bet, but that was once in nine months. This machine is strictly entertainment.
I was at the Borderline Casino about a week ago and the Lord of The Rings was down. I drifted back by it a couple of hour later and the new version was up and ready. No doubt I was one of the first to play it at that Casino. I already was down the road from the older version. Just lack 18 miles now. Picked up some today and two Trophies, one last week and one today. Great game.
Thanks for the continuing feedback everyone. I'm not the type of player who ever sits and plays a game for more that 10-15 minutes. I 'know' it's going to go cold and eat any of my wins. So putting $10 through LOTR has always been my max. I picked up most of my few trophies over the Easter weekend in Reno. Since then, I've had about a dozen bonus rounds with only one trophy. I've got a trip next weekend to Reno and I'm staying at the casino where I won the trophies. I think I'll commit a little of my bankroll to the game and see what I get. Again thanks for sharing a little personal information.
Hi to all of the LOTR TT players, I have a question. . .does anyone know how to play Dead Marshes? I have played it once and I was unsure what the goal was. I decided that I was supposed to travel to the opposite diagonal corner but that didn't give me much money. I did see one player keep going forwards, left, right and backwards to ultimately win $65. on a 40 cent bet. What is the best strategy? As always I thank you all.

Hi holidee,
I've only play Two Towers once. I have no personal knowledge of the bonus. I checked past posts on here and found one that might be helpful. Click on page 23 of this thread and scroll down to a post by Bioguru.
Hope this helps. I seem to remember g4b posting some good material on Two Towers also, if you want to check his thread.

What an improvement! I love the new Dragon Bonus that gives you the wilds on the board and the Smeagal Bonus is fun!
Thanks DW. I never got a red square so I didn't know about them. I guess I was playing about right as I was finished when I hit the top row. I also found some more info from UncleChucko #19. The trick is to open as many squares as you can without getting the red squares.
I played LOTR TT @ Seminole Hard Rock Tampa and tried again to get something on Gandalf's Fireworks . . .zilch. Actually, no one was making much on the 3 machines.
Hi car1950:
From my personal experience with the game, you can make as much off Lord of the Rings as you can from any other game. However, the way you win the money is different. Yes, the fireworks can give you those BIG BLASTS ... but in Lord of the Rings, I do it in smaller chunks. On a 40-cent bet, $30 here, $20 there, $50 there ... and by the time a session has completed, I'm up $100. I've played by lots of MAX BETTORS who get their winnings up to $1000 in no time.
Yes, the game is entertaining ... but it does not pay less than most other games at the same denomination. In other words, the players is not giving up a significant payback to be entertained.
For me, there are less cold streaks, and more "action" than most games. The miles, power spins, random bonuses and BONUS ROUNDS keep this game hopping. While the pay table has lower line pays, you get this back with the potential for WILD REELS, WILD symbols, and huge multipliers.
If someone was new to the game ... this is how I would characterize it. ![]()
