My sisters and I played this at NYNY and it was somewhat of a letdown for me. It's really, really difficult to build more than one ship in the eight minutes between battle bonuses so the bonus round is over far too soon. The graphics were fun and hearing the actors' voices is great; so the geek in me was happy.
I understand that slot machines are built to reel players in and keep them spending money but I wish this game had been a little less obvious about it. I imagine the machines saying, "Stay! Spend your money to build ships for the bonus round! It will be a great battle!"
And then I end up with one ship that gets hit after one 50 credit shot.
Hi suzbays:
What suggestions would you make to improve the game? Of course, we all want our game to pay more. What if the minimum bet was 5-cents more per spin ... to make the BONUS ROUND juicier ..? I'll bet, under the right circumstances, this game can generate some good cash. Do you think you will play it again?
Did the game keep your interest?

Star Trek Battlestations game is, IMO, may not last to long. Tried it with many others for several 8 minute bonus round cycles and, although the graphics and game board are pretty, no one got anything of value to make us continue playing after about two guarantee bonus cycles as the novelty quickly wore-off. The base game produced nothing substantial and after working hard to build ships they would get blown up very quickly amounting to nothing. The banks of machines were empty more often than not and that was a Saturday night! So go ahead and try it for the novelty but you probably will see what I am talking about. Found the more frequent hit Monopoly Bonus City fun and good for a smaller bank roll longevity. Forget the “Dirty Dancing” machines as you get these puny base game hits. The few “MR. WOO” machines still around at the V/P are still paying well for a penny game and I hit the major jackpot three times. Finally a note about all the “Alice in Wonderland” machines; V/P has all the different versions from all the manufacturers (and believe me there are many versions out there). The graphics are amazing on the WMS physical reel version and great entertainment value.
Played this game a couple times this past week at Suncoast (Vegas). I lost about $60, playing minimum, over not too long of time. I noticed during the course of my stay, not many people were playing it.
Anyway, the wheels go very fast, and the pays are HORRIBLE. I only got one bonus and it was cool, but I should have gotten more, for the amount of time I played on it. All of the "countdown" bonuses, never paid much...and those darn ships take time and "energy", lol, to build. Gosh! Very frustrating game for sure.
I did like the transporting Wild feature...but again, never paid much. The "main" characters, NEVER, i swear NEVER made it to line 3...thus, these machines are not made for a big win here or there.

As I understand it, the scatter symbols are what is needed to build the ships. I was wondering if you were betting small or played the max bet, there would be any difference as to the number of scatter symbols that appeared. With random numbers, there shouldn't be; correct??? But, with the bonus game appearing approx. every eight min., that doesn't give much time to build ships unless these scatter symblos show up with great frequency. Does a larger bet mean a greater multiplier?? The reviews on here are not what I was hoping for. Guess I'll just have to find out for myself!! I saw that it was at Golden Nugget and several casinos on the Strip. I'll try to build an entire fleet of ships (or should that be squadron? [sp?])!!

Hey DW,
I never played it but would guess if your betting say 3xbet for every scatter you get 3 of them, kind of like the power spins in LOTR. Just a guess though.

Just seems like there are many more negative comments here than positive so far. I'd hate to pump a few hundred in and see nothing but my few ships get blown away every eight minutes. Hope you're right.

I'm still looking forward to trying it...Time Machine and Mars seem to have simular standings...Lots of people never seem to win and say they don't like them, but some people seem to win and love them. As SHAMUS reminds everyone, Over time all the machines pay about the same so someone is going to win....I saw a big win posted somewhere on the site.
