Thanks for this very detailed write-up on the game. I'm glad you were able to get some decent play out of it. As a COMMUNITY game ... there are certain characteristics we all recognize -- like the urge to speed up your betting ... or low bonus rounds. There are some great ideas in this game -- and it is well designed.

At the end of the day, Lord of the Rings is the best comparison for Star Trek. Those games share a lot in commong. Battlestations stands on it's own. My money was actually all in the base game -- and it was the transporting wilds that paid the bills!

Well, I'm glad the transporting wilds worked out for you. I would like to see that doing better on the next play session. Also, I didn't get the rogue ship bonus... I would play it again, probably, if I had the money. My reaction to the game was definitely not a COMPLETE negative. There were aspects that I did really enjoy. It does make me miss the original even more, though. That was ( and is, if you can find it) a great game.

Thanks for taking the time to write up a complete review of the game. Hope I have better luck when I finally have the chance to play it. I was hoping the regularly scheduled bonus rounds were going to help COMMUNITY GAMING in general -- with a different approach.

One thing we do know -- you can win big ... as EVONI proved in her early video on the machine.

P.S. FYI... Looks like the date is wrong for this posting system. It reports that I edited this post on 11/11/11. As cool as that is, date wise, it's 8 days into the future. The date today is actually 11/03/11. On second thought, don't fix it... Just have it report the winning lottery numbers for the next week or so!

The first time I played this game was last month. I played it for awhile and wasn't doing very good. I finally ran out of money and cashed out my 12 cents that was left. To my surprise, I was awarded $3 Star Fleet Award when I cahed out. I put more money in and played some more. When I cashed out my few pennys I had left I was awarded $75!!!! Has this happend to any one else? I recent played this again and was awarwded $15 and $1.50. Does this happen everytime? If so, couldn't you just put in a dollar and take one pin and cash out and hope for a good award?

WMS needs to come up with a better game locator for their games. I really want to play this, but none of the indian gaming places around here have it.

I know the designer KIRKKIRK could tell you more about this feature. Essentially, if you cash out prior to the BONUS ROUND, the game can award you a monitary award for what you have earned toward the BONUS ROUND.

There are other WMS games which have a similar feature. For example, on WIN IT AGAIN games, you can win a MYSTERY AWARD if you cash out with values in the top columns. However, the MYSTERY AWARD is based on the amounts in the columns and how close to the left they are (meaning, more chances to WIN-IT-AGAIN).

While the awards can be small, or large -- they can also be NIL.

The Player's Life games have a good game locator, although it can get out of date. Right now, a great way to locate a game is on the WMS FACEBOOK site! They can get to the bottom of anything!

Shamus, after you told me about this feature I had a blast on I Love Lucy! NOONE knows about this little twist to the game and I was happy to inform anyone that sat down on my row about it. I had a wonderful bonus win of 597 dollars and took my chances on the cashout and guess what? WON IT AGAIN! I just couldnt believe it! I would say 8 out of ten times I would cash out my game would pay me something from the top. It was alot of fun winning and showing others this cool feature on the game. Thanks for sharing it with me!
